A new year calls for new starts. Here are some tips and resources to help you finally start practices and keep those healthy habits:
1) Goal Plan
If you don't know what your goals are, how are you going to get into the habit of doing them? Examples of health habits could be: drinking 3 cups of water every-time, taking your vitamins everyday, exercising 5 days a week, making your bed every morning, eating out only 2 nights a week, limit your coffee intake, etc.
2) Stay Consistent
Habits take weeks to form, so don't be too hard on yourself if you miss a day. Give yourself grace and keep going. But stay consistent in your routine to make sure you don't completely stop your habits.
3) Journal
Seeing where you started, writing down frustrations, and also journaling about your wins is essential. It reminds you of your "why" and is great to look back on once you've mastered those healthy habits.
4) Have Accountability Partners
Tell a friend or family about your new healthy habits and ask them to keep you accountable by periodically checking-in on you. Maybe even encourage them to start their own healthy habits too so you can keep THEM accountable!
5) Believe in Yourself
You are strong and capable. You're probably thinking to yourself "I wish I started earlier." But don't worry, you can start today and in a month, you'll be forming healthy habits that will positively influence your life!
